The Founders

Garland Mill Timberframes Founders Tom and Harry Southworth.
5’-6” giants upon whose shoulders we attempt to stand every day.

Harry and Tom built more than just a timber framing business. They built a brand based on lasting quality, a unique aesthetic, and professional relationships nurtured by personal touch. They fostered an appreciative customer base that has remained loyal and engaged over the years, and in a number of cases over the generations. Families who come back for a 2nd, 3rd, or even 5th timberframe speak to the key aspects of this business—mutual trust, good value for money, and architectural tradition enhanced by innovation.

Tom summed up Garland Mill Timberframes is his succinct, self-effacing way: “We take our work very seriously, and try not to take ourselves too seriously!”

My father and uncle’s vocational efforts and achievements left a dramatic impression, but more so a rock solid business foundation for us who carry on the tradition. Their work and our continuing aspirations embody sincerity and a commitment to excellence.
